When Jim Barlar formed ZAG, he wanted to create a company that focused on preparing his clients for sale. He began by bringing individuals together that will walk business owners, their attorneys and accountants through the M&A process. This starts with Jim, who has served in various roles such as Chief Development Officer, Vice President of Development and Vice President of sales for several companies. In these roles he worked to facilitate acquisitions on both the buy side and sell side. Jim has assisted companies in variety of service related industries. He is also a Georgia Licensed Real Estate Sales Representative with his license held by Berkshire Hathaway. Jim’s experiences formed how he leads ZAG’s clients to a successful exit.
Rick is an attorney with Georgia Bar Association, Emeritus and the American BarAssociation, Emeritus. Rick served as a partner at Sell and Melton, Attorneys at Law. As a partner, Rick specialized in healthcare, corporate law and mergersand acquisitions. While at Sell and Melton the largest M&A deal in which he participated as co-counsel was a one-billion-dollar deal. In addition to being an attorney he was also the CEO of US Carenet, Inc, for twenty-four years.During his tenure as CEO, he was involved in multiple transactions both on the buy side and sell side; the largest sell side deal was eighty million.
